Servant Trust
I was recently faced with some situations that were out of my control, and this affected me greatly. A loved one was ill in another state and needed my help, which I was happy to do. There were so many unknowns, and I’m very much a “let’s get a game plan” person. Doctor appointments, tests, surgery, recovery times, travel arrangements for other commitments? How long was this going to take? I remember being quite overwhelmed, afraid, and literally saying out loud in my room, “Lord, I trust You. I am your servant, and I trust You.” That phrase/prayer brought me comfort, and calmed me down many times.
I have often said that God didn’t teach me anything new during this time, but I was able to put into practice things that I already knew. Verses and songs and resources that I had been stockpiling – all came to my rescue. And always at the right time, on the right day.
Knowing that I was serving God by ministering to a loved one gave me the peace to know that He indeed was going to care for me (His servant) and be with both of us. And guess what – He did! The timing and details worked out perfectly for every single aspect of this experience.
“Lord, I trust You. I am your servant, and I trust You.” (…and yes, repeat it twice!)
